Short and Sweet.

Who am I?

I’m glad you asked! I’m Diego Enrico, a Peruvian American performer based in Brooklyn, though I have the privilege of getting to call multiple places home. I was born in Houston, Texas, but spent much of my childhood living with the rest of my family in Lima, Peru. As an artist, I believe in the telling of stories. I have a strong desire to give voice to those without one. Growing up, I had to move away from my closest friends in Peru, back to Houston and readjust to life in the United States. I had a lot of trouble making any friends until I found the theatre. Suddenly, I didn’t have to quiet my voice, or suppress my awkward movements. I could just be myself. Ever since then, I have had a deep passion for performing, specifically in musical theatre. I believe that bringing this art form to as many people as possible is necessary for this world. For a short time in the theatre, we can invite strangers into cultures they may have never understood. There are mountains of stories left untold and songs unsung. I hope that I can tell those stories and sing those songs. I believe in building a community of likeminded artists and bring the stories of all kinds. Join me on this journey. Let’s make some art!
